What you'll do

You’ll carry out general garden and landscape maintenance, including mowing, strimming, weeding, planting, pruning, and watering. You’ll also keep grounds clean, tidy, and safe for visitors and teams, and assist with event preparations and a variety of on-site activities.

You will enjoy being part of a small team, keen to learn and share your knowledge and have time to commit regularly to the being part of the Art Foundation.

  • A warm and friendly welcome to all visitors with the galleries and the landscape
  • Keen to help by providing information to visitors and answering questions about the sculptures and installations on display.
  • Being vigilant around the works on display to help prevent loss or damage to artworks
  • Support visitors in making the most of their experience by providing further information of the grounds of the Art Foundation and the Café 24.
  • Monitor the standards within the building and landscape and report any concerns to the Operations Manager
  • If you observe any Health and Safety concerns, please raise these with the Operations Manager
  • Provide visitor support for special events and performances
  • Maintain good health and safety practices, liaising with the Operations Manager in an emergency.

We are looking for volunteers who have;

  • Good Communicator, enjoy meeting people and being part of a team
  • A Can-do Attitude: you are flexible and happy to go the extra mile to help visitors
  • You understand the importance good customer service and understand what it takes to ensure that every visitor to the Goodwood Art Foundation has a positive experience.
  • An interest in art and the environment
  • Attention to detail; you know what good looks like
  • Prepared to commit regular time to being a volunteer
  • Be smart and presentable at all times
