Staff Frontend Engineer, Editing Performance - Design experience

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

We know job hunting can be a little time-consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work Our flagship Sydney campus is uniquely Canva - an extension of our Surry Hills neighbourhood. It’s a thoughtfully designed space with plenty of room to collaborate, focus, and connect. This role is based in Sydney, and we’re looking for someone who calls it home. Our hybrid way of working gives you the flexibility to work remotely and to come together on campus for meaningful in-person collaboration and connection when it matters most. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

Performance is fundamental to Canva's editing experience. As we grow, our editor needs to remain fast, smooth and reliable across different devices, networks and increasingly complex designs. The Editing Performance team is rebuilding foundational parts of Canva's editor architecture, primarily in TypeScript with a growing amount of React Native and native development. You'll have the opportunity to work deep in the foundations of the editor, helping it perform at scale while making it easier for engineering teams across Canva to build performant experiences.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

Designing, developing and deploying software solutions, partnering closely with engineering leads, designers and product managers to deliver experiences for Canva's global community.

Working primarily in TypeScript as we rebuild core parts of the editor, with opportunities to work across React Native and native surfaces.

Driving measurable performance improvements across the editor, using performance data and instrumentation to understand problems, prioritise opportunities and demonstrate impact.

Building tools, frameworks and libraries that empower other engineers at Canva to create performant features.

Taking ownership of complex technical problems, breaking larger initiatives into achievable pieces and driving work from idea through to delivery.

Sharing technical knowledge and identifying opportunities to collaborate across teams on improvements that help us achieve our goals.

You're probably a match if

You have strong commercial software engineering experience and have worked on complex, large-scale applications, SDKs or APIs.

You have deep TypeScript experience and are comfortable navigating large, long-lived codebases, including reasoning about systems and types you didn't originally build.

You've contributed to architecture decisions and enjoy solving complex engineering problems rather than simply building within established patterns.

You're comfortable working with performance data , instrumenting metrics, interpreting dashboards and using evidence to prioritise work and demonstrate impact.

You bring strong computer science and engineering fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, data structures, solution design, architecture and design patterns.

You're curious about how software performs under the hood. Experience with browser rendering, event handling, WebWorkers or WebGL/WebGPU is a strong plus, while familiarity with native rendering pipelines or JavaScript engine internals is a bonus.

You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively and enjoy sharing knowledge while helping others solve difficult technical problems.

About the team The Editing Group builds the core design experience at the heart of Canva. We work across the systems that make editing intuitive, responsive and scalable, tackling challenges spanning rendering performance, interactive design experiences and seamless cross-platform editing. Within Editing, the Editing Performance team focuses on making sure performance never gets in the way of creativity. We improve page load and interaction performance, tackle memory and reliability challenges, build the measurement systems that help teams understand performance, and create frameworks that empower engineers across Canva to make performance part of how they build.

What's in it for you? Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard , and we do , but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work. Here's a taste of what's on offer:

Equity packages , we want our success to be yours too

Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers

An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more

Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and support you personally

Customer Service Operations Expert (Spanish)

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte, ¡hola! Thanks for stopping by. We know job descriptions can feel a bit formulaic sometimes, but we promise Canva is anything but. If you're drawn to what we're building and you see yourself in this role, we'd love to hear from you.

Where and How You Can Work This role is based in our Manila office , one of Canva's key global hubs and the home of our Specialist Operations team. We believe in working where you do your best thinking, and our team supports flexible arrangements while staying connected to a high-energy, collaborative space.

What You'd Be Doing in This Role Canva's Specialist Operations Group is on a mission to deliver world-class support to every user, in every language, on every device. The Multilingual Team sits within our High Sensitivity and Escalations subgroup , we handle the complex, the sensitive, and the urgent for users who need help in their own language. As a CPSET Spanish Expert, you'll be the calm, capable presence Spanish-speaking Canva users turn to when things get complicated. This isn't a routine support role. You'll own escalated tickets end-to-end, support users across email, chat, and phone, and help shape how the team works , from improving processes to sharpening our translation tooling. You'll be part of setting the standard for what multilingual support at Canva actually looks like.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

Owning escalated email, chat, and phone support tickets from Spanish locales in Zendesk end-to-end , bugs, incidents, and everything in between

Providing phone support and language interpretation between Spanish-speaking users and CPSET reps, building toward independent call ownership as training expands

Digging into the "why" behind recurring issues and helping the Multilingual Team find smarter, faster ways of working

Evaluating translation tool output and flagging improvement opportunities to sharpen the quality of Canva's Spanish-language support

Partnering with teammates across the High Sensitivity and Escalations subgroup to make sure no Spanish-speaking user's issue falls through the cracks

You're Probably a Match If:

Your Spanish is at CEFR B2 level or above , you can hold a live, natural conversation on a phone call without leaning on scripted phrases, and you can read and write with enough precision to own complex support tickets end-to-end

You're fluent in English too, with strong cross-cultural communication instincts

You've worked in a customer support, escalations, or service-recovery role before , ideally with ticketing tools like Zendesk , and you're energised rather than drained by complex cases

You have a translator's eye for language nuance and quality, which makes you well placed to evaluate and improve automated translation output

You're comfortable in ambiguity and have a bias toward ownership , you don't wait to be told how to fix something

You're genuinely collaborative and curious about process , not just following it, but improving it

About the Team The Multilingual Team is part of Canva's High Sensitivity and Escalations subgroup within Specialist Operations. We're a group of service escalation experts who support non-English speaking users through their most complex product moments. We care about doing this well , with precision, empathy, and a genuine belief that great support in someone's own language can turn a frustrating experience into a reason to stay a Canva user for life.

What's in It for You? Canva has grown hugely over the last few years, but we're only just getting started. Here's a taste of what's on offer:

Equity packages , so you share in Canva's success

Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers

An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more

Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and supports you personally

Field Marketing Manager - 12 Month Contract

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

Building a genuine partnership with Sales, close enough that your regional GTM plays are shaped with them, not handed to them, and translate directly into aligned account strategies, movement through pipeline, and closed deals

Owning the strategy behind field and regional marketing, not just the delivery: building multi-channel plans that combine in-person experiences, digital campaigns, content, and account-based engagement to move enterprise target accounts through the funnel (events are one tool in the plan, not the whole plan)

Digging into pipeline, program, and campaign performance data yourself, using dashboards and attribution to shape where you invest and prove out what's working, rather than waiting on someone else's readout

Translating global campaigns, customer stories, product priorities, and sales motions into localized, account-relevant strategies for enterprise audiences in the US market, with Canada and Latin America experience a plus

Coordinating brand, content, customer marketing, product marketing, and lifecycle teams so every field program lands as one cohesive campaign, not a set of disconnected activations

Running the operational side with rigor: budgets, vendors, timelines, and execution quality across events, webinars, executive programs, and partner activations

Working independently and switching comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on delivery, without needing a large team or heavy direction to get things done

You're probably a match if:

You have real, specific proof that your partnership with Sales produced aligned strategies that moved pipeline and helped close deals, not just that you "worked closely with" or "aligned with" Sales

You've owned regional or field programs (not just supported them) and can point to named programs and, ideally, quantified pipeline or revenue impact

You're energized by data: you dig into dashboards and attribution to make decisions and prove impact, not just to build a recap deck afterward

You've built marketing strategies, plans, and multi-channel campaigns, beyond running events and webinars

You've worked within ABM frameworks for enterprise accounts, from account selection through tailored engagement

You can coordinate across brand, content, product marketing, lifecycle, and customer marketing to deliver one coordinated campaign, not a series of handoffs

You're equally comfortable setting strategy and executing hands-on, and don't need a lot of oversight to get from plan to delivery

You have demonstrated experience in the US market (Canada and Latin America experience is a genuine plus, not a substitute)

You have 8+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a high-growth SaaS or tech company
