We are seeking an outstanding Managing Director to lead SWRnewstar, a £33m revenue business operating at the forefront of waste brokerage and digital solutions, through its next chapter of accelerated growth, digital advancement and operational excellence.

As Managing Director, you will define strategy, inspire performance, and embed a high-engagement, high-accountability culture aligned to the wider Biffa vision. You will combine commercial sharpness with operational rigour and digital fluency, positioning SWRnewstar as a market-leading, customer-centric and technology-enabled business.

You are an accomplished senior leader with a track record of delivering growth, transformation and cultural impact within complex B2B environments. You will bring a proven success leading senior leadership teams with full business accountability, experience running a digitally enabled or platform-based business, and strong commercial instinct with deep financial and strategic capability.

Experience across sales, marketing, account management and/or operations, the ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution, exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, and a collaborative, innovative and resilient leadership style are also essential.

As Finance Director, you will be a core member of a four-person executive team responsible for delivering profitable growth and long-term strategy across a £150m revenue business. You’ll lead the finance function while playing a pivotal role in commercial decision-making, investment activity and performance improvement. Key responsibilities include:
