Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in home or clinic settings
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and programs created by a supervising BCBA
  • Collect data and submit session notes
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions
  • Commute to various locations with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children or adolescents with autism spectrum disorder
  • Effective English communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and families
  • Valid state ID
  • Reliable transportation
  • Pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret medical and general information with high accuracy and completeness
  • Interpret complex medical information, demonstrating expert knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare system
  • Act as a cultural mediator, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and superior intercultural communication skills
  • Adhere to the National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Healthcare Interpreters
  • Manage time productively and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Use computer, software, and electronic tools for research, data entry, and communication purposes
  • Translate written material into one or more languages, ensuring meaning, context, and localization are maintained

Requirements:

  • 40-hour Professional Medical Interpreter course completion or 2+ years of professional interpreting experience or degree in Spanish, Translation, Interpretation, or related field
  • Excellent oral and written command of both source and target languages
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience working as an interpreter in healthcare settings
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interpretation or Translation, Languages or Communications
  • National Certification as a Healthcare or Medical Interpreter from either CCHI or NBCMI
  • Completion of a college-level medical terminology course
  • Knowledge of EPIC
