Remediation contractors at the DOE Portsmouth site in Piketon, Ohio.</p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be part of an IT team responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting the IT infrastructure.</p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform daily system administration, operation, and maintenance support activities in a physical and virtual environment.</li>\n<li>Provide primary support and management of the IT server infrastructure and hosted systems, focusing on areas such as Active Directory, permissions, storage, and Group Policy.</li>\n<li>Support first-tier technical staff with troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access.</li>\n<li>Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems for end-users, with a primary emphasis on server-related issues.</li>\n<li>Support System Administration of primary Omnissa/VMWare platforms across the site, among other technologies.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.</li>\n<li>Recommend hardware and software solutions to meet end-user and IT needs.</li>\n<li>Support Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team.</li>\n<li>Consult with internal departments to identify customer needs and incorporate them into operational and project objectives.</li>\n<li>Stay up-to-date with industry computer security technology and practices, and possess technical skills and applicable experience with related technologies.</li>\n<li>Define and document best practices, technical guides, and support procedures.</li>\n<li>Interact with cross-functional project teams, including Software Development, Helpdesk, User Support, Cyber Security, Software Quality Assurance, End-Users, and Oversight.</li>\n<li>Participate in creating and maintaining documentation to ensure clear, concise, and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution.</li>\n<li>Remediate security vulnerabilities.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively via Microsoft Teams, email, and phone.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT) from an accredited university and preferably 2+ years of related experience.</li>\n<li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.</li>\n<li>Must be detail-oriented.</li>\n<li>Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills are required.</li>\n<li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.</li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Experience with Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems and/or Oracle, RHEL, and Linux Operating Systems.</li>\n<li>Experience providing maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of computer systems and networks.</li>\n<li>Operational knowledge of Microsoft platforms and/or Linux;
