As an Autonomous Systems Security Engineer at Anthropic, you will own autonomous systems across our data center footprint as one security domain. This includes drones, ground robots, and automated vehicles for patrol, inspection, and moving hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Autonomous security and inspection systems: Select, integrate, and secure autonomous platforms for perimeter patrol, incident response, and infrastructure inspection.
• Tools, automation, and AI agents: Build integrations for detections, tracks, telemetry, and fleet health into the security monitoring platform.
• Detection of uncrewed systems: Engineer sensing systems to detect and identify uninvited aerial or ground vehicles.
• Security of site automation: Implement controls on automated vehicles and robots inside secure areas.
• Regulatory and site constraints: Establish compliance with aviation, spectrum, privacy, and safety rules at each site.
• Health monitoring: Define and test heartbeats, loss-of-coverage, and lost-link alarms.
• Vendor requirements and acceptance: Write requirements, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Experience engineering autonomous or sensing systems in the field.
• Integrated systems from multiple vendors into a platform.
• Code review and design of data systems behind security tooling.
• Experience with data centers, critical infrastructure, or large hardware fleets.
• Designed systems within regulatory or safety constraints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Remote pilot certification (e.g., FAA Part 107).
• Experience with counter-drone detection, airspace surveillance, or air traffic data systems.
• Fleet management and mission planning for robots, drones, or automated vehicles.
• Securing embedded, operational technology, or robotic systems.
• Physical security operations at large sites or with law enforcement.
• Built AI agents or automation to replace manual work.

Logistics

• Annual salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time.
