As a Field/Base Network Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the Navy&#39;s shore-based networks and data management.</p>\n<p>The SMIT contract is the largest IT services program for the Navy, and Leidos will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work as an Operations-focused Network Technician on a team responsible for BAN/LAN/WAN Network Operations, troubleshooting, schedule upgrades and cutovers, and coordinate with responsible users and sites.</li>\n<li>Provide COMSEC Alternate Local Element support to assigned locations, which includes maintaining COMSEC hardware/software assets and key inventories, loading keys into Encryption devices, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, removing/replacing faulty equipment, interacting with the Primary Local Element and/or the Government KOAMs while standing in for the Primary Local Element and following prescribed procedures and processes related to COMSEC.</li>\n<li>Document work activities/details per established tools and processes; maintain accurate site documentation.</li>\n<li>Interface with Field Base Network Lead and the Network Operations Center (NOC) as required in support of incident troubleshooting and restoral.</li>\n<li>Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and removal/replacement of faulty hardware using SOPs, TTPs, work instructions, vendor guidance, and other documented processes and procedures.</li>\n<li>Support network configuration/asset management activities, manage configuration drift, and accurately create or modify network documentation to reflect the as-is and/or to-be environment.</li>\n<li>Support Cybersecurity requirements and implementation of security controls (STIG compliance).</li>\n<li>Coordinate network upgrades and planned maintenance activities with SMIT Program and customer stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Recertify training annually to maintain baseline, participate in training to maintain a baseline skillset and knowledge base, provide input to assist in development and improvement of content for Master Training Syllabus that will define the minimum On-the-Job-Training (OJT) requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs for up to a 100 feet at a time; must be able to lift 25 lbs vertically using ladders.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communications closets; must be able to work in noisy environments, such as data centers and operations centers; must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours at a time.</li>\n<li>Must be able to utilize basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches while rack mounting active and passive equipment using small screws and brackets.</li>\n<li>Must have normal color vision to identify different colors of wires and cables; must have correctable vision to 20/20 or better so you can see objects and information displayed in schematics, test equipment, and computer monitors; must have depth perception to be able to judge distance between objects to work safely on ladders and in confined spaces; must be able to use and read digital test equipment such as OTDR.</li>\n<li>Must be able to drive corporate vehicle to different locations to work on projects and troubleshoot; valid state license required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate degree in relevant field preferred with 2+ years of overall related experience;
