The starting pay range for this position per hour is $23.00 - $25.00, and the full pay range is $23.00 - $39.10. Pay is based on several factors, including labour markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Consistently delivering guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly guest experience
• Ensuring every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target's guest experience commitments and consistent operations
• Actively observing and providing feedback, holding team members accountable while recognising great guest experience moments
• Reviewing area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, taking action to improve, and aligning team on the right behaviours and execution
• Leading the execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement
• Educating team members on how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
• Assessing reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and assisting in developing a plan to resolve
• Being an expert of operations, accuracy, process, and efficiency
• Assigning daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns
• Establishing clear goals and expectations and holding team members accountable
• Helping to enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor
• Staying informed about relevant trends and products to educate team members
• Evaluating candidates for open positions and developing a guest-centric team
• Identifying team members for future leader positions and utilising growth development to build a talent pool
• Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfilment processes
• Demonstrating inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches
• Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct and following all Target policies and safety procedures
• Leading and demonstrating a safety culture through modelling and recognising safe behaviours

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys interacting and helping others

• Is open to working a variable work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent
• Is 18 years or older
• Has previous retail experience (preferred but not required)
• Can lead and hold others accountable
• Can communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Can manage workload and prioritise tasks independently
• Has a welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and team members
• Has effective communication skills
