Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing technical direction and mentoring for junior staff
• Managing, analysing, and reporting on tailings and geotechnical projects
• Designing and inspecting mine waste storage facilities
• Conducting closure planning, deposition, stability, and seepage analysis for water and tailings storage dams
• Participating in training activities, mentoring, and transferring knowledge to junior tailings/geotechnical engineers
• Planning, developing schedules, coordinating, and overseeing manpower on important engineering projects

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A relevant degree (BEng or BSc) in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of experience post-graduation
• Developed specialist skills in tailings and geotechnical engineering
• Professional registration at GhIE preferred
• Legislation related to engineering design supporting water use and waste management license applications
• Financial knowledge (Understanding of Work in Progress, Accounts Receivables, and DSOs)
• Proven skills/experience to lead mine-related projects coupled with sound project management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, slope stability analysis, seepage analysis, and modelling software
